Miscellaneous Information

“Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardor and attended to with diligence, " Abigail Adams once said.

Hi! I'm Cari Obuchon and this is my 11th year helping students to seek and attend to knowledge.  Ten of those years have been in 1st grade and one year was in preschool as an Early Intervention Educator.  I have been at Willow Springs for seven years and feel fortunate to be a part of this great school. I lead the 1st grade team here at Willow Springs from 2012-2017.

I graduated from New Mexico State University in 2003 with a degree in Early Childhood Education including a minor in special education. I taught in Phoenix for three years at Cartwright School District and received an endorsement in English as a Second Language (ESL).  I decided to stay home in 2008 to be a mom and decided to further my education and graduated in 2010 with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA).

I love spending time with my family and friends. I have four children, Emma is in high school, Camron is in middle school and Kiana and Kaylee are here at Willow Springs. I enjoy boating, going to the beach, DIY projects, movie nights and traveling.

I have high expectations for my students and believe that through good teaching practices, opportunities, and encouragement my students will have an enjoyable learning experience. My goal is to teach in ways that are meaningful and enjoyable so that my students love coming to school as much as I do.
