        • Principal Hansen is hoping to clarify how many council members are open so it is clear.
        • Principal Hansen proposes April’s meeting-review by laws
        • Shalisse Smith reminded us that all agendas need to be posted 1 week prior online.
        • Megan G reminded us that we have to do district items first, then if time we address the other items.
    • Set schedule
      • Third Wednesday of the month – 10-11:30 AM
      • Megan White proposes 9:30-11. Helps the meeting be done before lunch.

        • Shalisse volunteered to take care of the change.
        • Principal Hansen will update calendar website on with new times.

  • District Training
    • Jessica Smith discussed an SCC luncheon. Megan G. will email Susan to inquire.
    • Everyone choose a training to attend.
    • Megan G will report back attendance of trainings.
      • Please report back to Megan G when you attend.
    • Needing Clarification if you are new if you have to attend both trainings or just the general SCC trainings.
    • Principal Hansen looked online. She will resend the memo for new members to watch the video online.
      • Megan White inquired if there was a zoom option.
    • Susan responded and clarified that new members need to attend both
    • September 18, 2024:
      • 9 a.m. – 9:45 Basic SCC Training for new members and those wanting a refresher
      • 10-11:30 a.m.: General SCC Training for all members
      • 5:30 – 6:15 pm Basic SCC Training; 6:30 – 8 p.m. general training for everyone
    • October 3, 2024:
      • 1-2:30 p.m. General SCC Training for all members

    • Principal Hansen presented slideshow
    • Contact Information for Council members are posted on the website.
      • Megan G. received spam from info on the site.  New updated technology (hover to view) is designed to protect members from spam. Be careful if you get emails asking for money.  Only respond to emails from Canyons District.
        • Creating a separate email for SCC is an option.
      • Principal Hansen will submit when approved.
  • Review current year’s plans and begin discussion

      • Principal Hansen proposes an update. The funding for school social worker is absorbed by the district.
        • Less money received
        • Need for more behavior support approximately $14,000
        • Allow for an up to 10% carryover for next year
        • Jessica Smith motions to approve plan
        • Megan G. opens up discussions
        • Jennie Stratton wanted clarification regarding social worker funding
        • Jessica Smith feels that it is really needed to support behavior students and the other students in the classroom.
        • Megan White agrees it is needed

  • School Improvement Plan
    • Jessica Smith read the plan.
    • Annie proposed math goals
      • Shalisse discussed the underutilization of parent volunteers
      • Megan White discussed our school plan for volunteers for math
        • Teams are creating a plan for volunteers
        • Gina discussed Watch Dog Dads for the schedule of when volunteers are welcome
        • Sara Jane would love more support for 5th grade math supports to prepare students for middle school
        • Principal Hansen explained expectation for teachers to utilize parent volunteers and have it ready for parent conferences
        • McKenzie discussed her value of parent volunteers
        • Annie Nixon will support parents with math intervention curriculum.
    • Principal Hansen will post Data for the ’23-’24 School year with updates
    • Safe Walking Routes
      • Principal Hansen is there anything new or are we ready to submit?
      • Leslie Bruse (crossing guard) and Officer Nef (SRO) will be invited to come to meeting to approve
    • Positive Behavior Plan
    • School Safety report and Digital Citizenship-Anne Presents
      • Discuss Highlights
        • Off Site Evacuation Location. LDS Church
        • If you want the plan, Anne will print it and view but it will not be published online or emailed out.
        • Standard Response Protocol: Printed and in each classroom.
        • Shalisse expressed appreciation for communication on Friday drills so parents can support their children with handling the drills.
      • Review concerns
        • Anne Hansen’s safety concern of parking lot drop off. We have a video that will be sent out this week.
          • Students running through crosswalks, through bus lane, parents driving through fast, parents parking in handicapped parking, parents parking and walking students. Students not exiting on the curbside. Parents leave the vehicle.
          • Jessica Smith proposes to study school plan on our own so we can discuss at the next meeting.
      • District Digital Citizenship plan.
          • Principal Hansen proposes we read it on our own and come back to discuss.
          • Jessica Smith wondered if pickup/dropoff is part of safe walking plan.
          • Principal Hansen explained that they are separate.
        • Create Action Plan
  • Megan G Takeaways: Everyone read Digital Safety and School Safety Plan.  Reply all if there are anything that needs to be discussed in the next meeting.
  • Shalisse Smith wondering about big rocks coming in on the playground. Are students throwing the rocks?
    • Anne Hansen explained that bigger rocks are less likely to be thrown
    • Recess teaching regarding safety on the playgrounds.
  • Get a report on any school educational data that may have come in to inform this year’s LAND Trust Plan implementation.
  • Begin writing School Safety Plan, Digital Citizenship and Safe Walking Routes plans: Due November 1
  • As time permits:
    • Pledge of Allegiance-Anne Hansen explained that the Pledge is state law that we do it. Should be student led. 
    • Cafeteria—team discussed concerns about lunchroom expectations. Lunch should be a fun time for students and we want the cafeteria to reflect the positive culture in our school. Concerns are that this is not happening.
      • Principal Hansen will investigate reports and respond per policy.
      • Administration will spend more time in the cafeteria to observe. Requested that students report to her any concerns.
      • Official Policy for lunchroom: big clock in the lunchroom so students know when they are ok to stay and go.
        • K-1: No early release option
        • 2-5: Do have an early release option.  Expected 15 minutes seated but can go if they are ready and pending student behavior.  Laws dictate 20 minutes but students are welcome to stay longer if they need more time to eat.
        • Let’s be clear on what the times actually are.
        • Shalisse is requesting a more positive environment with upholding the PAWS rules.
        • Jennifer thinks a lot can be done if the expectations can be clearer for the kids.
      • Anne Hansen will put PBIS videos online, and requests that the classrooms show the videos.
      • Team discussed how to support with some kind of incentive (group contingency) and fun opportunities to help students enjoy lunchroom time.
      • Jessica Smith asked why on assigned seating of cafeteria.
        • Logistics of cleaning
        • Different timing and students rushing to eat
        • Traffic flow in the cafeteria; safety
